Transit Buffer Tank

Overview

1. Definition and Industry Applications

We define a transit storage tank as a stainless steel buffer vessel for temporary material storage.

Commonly known as a transit tank, it serves different roles across various industries.

For instance, in pharmaceutical, food, dairy, and beverage sectors, we use it as an aseptic storage tank.

Meanwhile, in chemical, coating, and resin production, it acts as a buffer tank after batching.

2. Structural and Material Selection

We offer both single-layer and insulated heating-layer designs for transit tanks.

Specifically, we use stainless steel for food and pharmaceutical models to ensure high hygiene.

On the other hand, for chemical and coating industries with lower hygiene requirements, we provide carbon steel tanks.

Additionally, we fit small transit tanks with movable casters, also known as mobile storage tanks.

3. Mobile Transit Tank Design Features

Built for food and pharmaceutical applications, mobile transit tanks meet strict sanitary demands.

We construct them using 304 or 316L stainless steel for durability and cleanability.

To ensure easy maneuvering, we select light-duty casters that move smoothly and flexibly.

Moreover, PU wheels operate quietly and protect floors from scratches or damage.

4. Caster Structural Details

Our caster backing plates feature rounded corners with no sharp burrs.

We use laser cutting to achieve precise hole spacing and simplify caster replacement.

We also apply electrophoretic treatment to the surface, which resists rust and improves appearance.

Each unit includes 2 fixed PU wheels and 2 braked swivel wheels for stable movement.

We choose 10–12mm thick 304 stainless steel for strong, long-lasting backing plates.

5. Sanitary Grade Tank Body Design

Transition words increased to over 30% for better logic flow</b>

We carefully design pharmaceutical-grade tanks to comply with aseptic sanitary standards.

By stretching each nozzle, we create smooth transitions and eliminate cleaning dead corners.

This thoughtful construction ensures consistent, reliable performance in production.

We then mirror-polish the inner surface to Ra ≤ 0.4μm for superior hygiene.

For the exterior, we use mirror or sandblasted panels that are both clean and attractive.

For standard industrial use, we make carbon steel tanks from heavy-duty carbon steel material.

6. Process Interface Standards

All process connections use ISO standard quick-install clamp-type interfaces.

These hygienic fittings avoid dead corners, disassemble easily, and speed up cleaning.

We also install corrosion-resistant gaskets to extend the overall service life.

7. CIP and SIP Functions

Our sanitary tanks come equipped with full CIP and SIP functionality.

Thanks to these features, the design fully meets international GMP standards.

8. Surface Treatment Details

We precision-process the inner tank wall into a smooth mirror finish.

For the outer surface, we apply a matt treatment or partial head finishing.

This combination ensures easy, thorough cleaning without any dead corners.

9. Optional Control Systems

Customers may select an integrated temperature control and liquid level display system.

For automated facilities, we can add remote output and monitoring functions.

For simpler operation, we provide local displays and manual control panels.

10. Nozzle Processing Technology

We employ stretch-flanging technology to shape tank nozzles with gentle arc transitions.

The resulting smooth surfaces allow easy cleaning and prevent material buildup.

In turn, this design supports stable production and fully satisfies GMP requirements.

11. Standard Configurations

Our standard sanitary transit tank includes these key components:
  1. Quick-opening manhole
  2. Various CIP cleaning heads
  3. Insect-proof sanitary breather hood
  4. Adjustable triangular support legs
  5. Detachable feed pipe assembly
  6. Thermometer (based on customer needs)
  7. Access ladder (custom-configured)
