Polymerisation Kettle

Overview

A polymerisation kettle is the main equipment for preparing  polymer compounds. It is a chemical reaction vessel with a jacket, through which steam or cold water can be introduced for heating or cooling. For a stainless steel polymerisation kettle used in emulsion polymerisation, there is a horizontal flat – blade stirrer made of stainless steel inside, which is driven by an electric motor through a transmission device and a reducer. The outer wall of a stainless steel polymerisation kettle is usually made of stainless steel, and some are lined with enamel. During polymerisation, it can be produced intermittently in a single kettle or continuously in series with multiple kettles. The material of a polymerisation reactor is generally made of stainless steel. For the pharmaceutical industry, it meets GMP requirements, and the inner surface undergoes mirror polishing treatment.
A stainless steel polymerisation kettle consists of a kettle cover, a cylinder body, a jacket, a stirrer, a shaft – sealing transmission device, and supports, etc. The kettle body and components in contact with the materials inside the kettle are all made of 0Cr18Ni9 or 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless acid – resistant steel plates. The design, manufacture, and acceptance refer to the technical requirements of GB150 – 2011 Pressure Vessels. Stainless steel polymerisation kettles are widely used in chemical laboratories, petrochemical enterprises, the pharmaceutical field, and other areas.

A polymerisation kettle is a type of reaction kettle. It varies according to different material reactions. It requires less investment and is easy to operate. The stirring types include anchor – type, paddle – type, turbine – type, propeller – type, or frame – type. The number of openings, specifications, or other requirements can be designed and manufactured according to user needs. It is suitable for the decomposition, synthesis, cracking, polymerisation, and esterification reactions of various organic compounds. The specifications range from 5L to 10000L.
