Overview & Basic Information
Our company manufactures sanitary storage tanks in strict accordance with quality standards. We use SUS316L or SUS304 stainless steel for both the tank body and inner liner. The inner surface of the tank body undergoes mirror polishing, with a roughness of Ra ≤ 0.4 μm, while the outer insulation wall also uses SUS316L or SUS304 stainless steel.
Additionally, these tanks find wide application in pharmaceutical, food, chemical, and biological product industries. They are used for normal-temperature or frozen storage of liquid or gas materials, including extracts, ethanol, acids, alkalis, and gases.
Classification of Sanitary Storage Tanks
Sanitary storage tanks have multiple classification methods. By form, we divide them into vertical stainless steel sanitary storage tanks and horizontal stainless steel sanitary storage tanks.
By pressure requirements, they fall into stainless steel pressure vessels and non-stainless steel pressure vessels. By structure, we further categorize them into single-layer storage tanks, double-layer storage tanks (with an insulation layer), and three-layer storage tanks (with an insulation layer and a jacket).
Main Structure & Materials
Sanitary storage tanks mainly consist of the tank body and various accessories. The tank body itself is composed of a cylinder, supporting legs (or lugs), upper and lower heads, a jacket, and an insulation layer.
The tank cylinder is cylindrical, and the upper and lower heads are standard elliptical or dished heads—we mainly use 304 or 316L stainless steel to make these components. For the insulation material, we mostly adopt polyurethane or rock wool, with a thickness ranging from 50 mm to 100 mm.
Accessories
The accessories of sanitary storage tanks mainly include sanitary manholes, sight glasses, sight lamps, material liquid inlets and outlets, and other process nozzles, as well as CIP cleaning nozzles.
Moreover, users can choose additional accessories such as level gauges, thermometers, cleaning balls, breathers, weighing modules, pressure gauges, and safety valves based on their specific needs.
Material Advantages
We use 304 or 316L stainless steel for all parts that come into contact with medicinal liquids. These materials have the characteristics of non-toxicity, no shedding, and good corrosion resistance.
This not only ensures the quality of medicines and food but also extends the service life of the equipment effectively.
Operational Performance
We distribute the accessories of the storage tank (such as manholes, inlets and outlets, level gauges, and breathing valves) reasonably. This rational layout makes observation and operation easy and convenient for operators.
Sanitary Performance
The heads of the storage tank are standard elliptical or dished, and we form their rounded corners through Japanese-style flat-plate hydraulic forming. We subject the joints of all nozzles to drawing treatment to ensure their corner parts transition smoothly in an arc form, with an arc radius of ≥ 10 mm.
All welds of the tank body are welded by automatic or manual argon arc welding, and we treat them with a stress relief machine. We also perform mechanical fine polishing on both the inner and outer surfaces of the equipment to ensure the inner surface roughness reaches Ra ≤ 0.6 μm.
This design effectively avoids product residue, reduces cleaning difficulty, and meets the requirements of sanitary-grade tanks. Additionally, we pickle and passivate the inner surface to enhance the equipment’s corrosion resistance and extend its service life.
Appearance Performance
We use an automatic polishing machine to integrally sand the outer surface of the storage tank into a matte finish, with uniform and consistent polishing lines. The upper and lower heads are polished into either a mirror or matte finish, with a roughness of Ra ≤ 0.8 μm.
This not only gives the tank a pleasing appearance but also avoids light pollution.
