An alcohol storage tank, also known as an ethanol storage tank, is a storage tank for organic solvents such as ethanol and methanol. Similar products include methanol storage tanks, ammonia water storage tanks, acetone storage tanks, etc. Its naming rule is to name it after the stored material. Alcohol storage tanks are a commonly used type of storage tank because ethanol is a commonly used extractant, cleaning agent, separating agent, and fusion agent in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. Due to the characteristics of easy volatilization, flammability, and explosiveness of organic containers, alcohol storage tanks need to be treated for anti – volatilization and explosion – proof, and be equipped with explosion – proof and flame – arrestor breathers. Alcohol storage tanks are widely used in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals for alcohol storage, alcohol transfer, and other links.
Alcohol storage tanks can be buried or not. Above – ground alcohol storage tanks are relatively simple, mainly considering explosion – proof and anti – volatilization design and liquid level measurement. For buried alcohol storage tanks, in addition to the above considerations, aspects such as liquid in and out, the foundation design for burial, and the safe distance from surrounding buildings need to be considered. Above – ground alcohol storage tanks are classified by form: they can be divided into vertical stainless steel and horizontal stainless steel alcohol storage tanks; classified by sanitary standards: hygienic – grade stainless steel tanks and ordinary stainless steel tanks; classified by pressure requirements: stainless steel pressure vessels and non – stainless steel pressure vessels.
The interface of the alcohol storage tank adopts a general standard quick – fit clamp – on disk type. The inner tank is made of imported 316L or 304. The inner surface is mirror – polished/original color, and the outer surface is matt, mirror – finished, sand – blasted, or cold – rolled original color matt.
The tank nozzles include liquid level gauges (digital display or glass tube type), explosion – proof and anti – volatilization breathing ports, flame – arrestor breathers, liquid in and out ports, and manholes, etc.
A buried alcohol storage tank is also called an underground storage tank, which is a storage tank placed below the ground level. This type of tank saves space and is safe and reliable. A special pool that can play a secondary anti – seepage protection role, that is, an anti – seepage pool, is set around the buried storage tank. The wall thickness of the buried alcohol storage tank is not less than 6mm. The material can be carbon steel or stainless steel according to different industries. The requirements for sanitary levels are different, and the treatment of the inner surface is also different. The conventional configuration of an alcohol storage tank includes the tank body, ladder, support, high and low liquid level measurement and alarm, temperature detection, feeding port, discharging port, sewage port, manhole, flame – arrestor breather, etc. The specific configuration can be specified or selected as an option.
