Stainless steel chromatographic columns, also known as resin columns, are suitable for the physical separation of liquid medicines in the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries. They deliver excellent separation results because when the liquid medicine flows down from the top of the column, the adsorbent inside the column adsorbs the substances that need to be removed from the liquid.
When the adsorbent becomes saturated, operators use another solvent to remove the adsorbed substances. In addition, the main functions of resin columns are to adsorb organic matter, microorganisms and harmful substances in the liquid, as well as to decolorize the liquid. Usually, operators select different specifications of resin or activated carbon according to the specific materials to be treated.

Structural Features

The top and bottom of the column body are equipped with baffles and filter screens, and the interior is mainly filled with resin or activated carbon. The side of the column body is provided with an observation window, which allows operators to observe the internal adsorption situation conveniently.
In addition, if the column body is made of glass or organic glass, it will be more convenient to observe the internal situation, which helps operators monitor the process in real time.

Application Scope and Reusability of Resin

Resin columns are widely used in adsorption, elution and decolorization processes in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries. One of their main advantages is that the resin can be reused, thereby reducing operating costs and improving efficiency.

Stainless steel chromatographic columns are resistant to acid and alkali corrosion. When handling weakly acidic substances, manufacturers usually adopt 316L stainless steel to ensure their durability and performance.

Hygienic-grade pipelines and valves all adopt quick-connect methods, which simplifies installation and maintenance. The surface treatment can be made into mirror or wire-drawing effect according to customer requirements, meeting different aesthetic and practical needs.

Operation and Compliance

The resin supports backwash regeneration, which extends its service life and maintains its adsorption capacity. The whole machine is designed and manufactured in accordance with GMP requirements, and can be equipped with a PLC control system to realize automatic operation and reduce manual intervention.
For tower packing, operators should refer to the operation manual to ensure correct operation and avoid equipment damage or performance problems.
