Production line for extraction, concentration and alcohol recovery of traditional Chinese medicine

Description of Traditional Chinese Medicine Extraction, Concentration, and Alcohol Precipitation Recovery Production Line

The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) extraction, concentration, and alcohol precipitation recovery production line is a crucial combination of equipment in TCM manufacturing, primarily used for extracting active ingredients from medicinal herbs, concentrating them, and subsequent alcohol precipitation and recovery processes. Below is a detailed description of this production line:

 I. Composition of the Production Line

The TCM extraction, concentration, and alcohol precipitation recovery production line mainly consists of the following equipment: extraction tanks, condensers, coolers, oil-water separators, filters, liquid pumps, extract storage tanks, concentrators, alcohol precipitation tanks, supernatant tanks, alcohol recovery towers, alcohol storage tanks, and alcohol pumps. These devices work in synergy to complete the entire process from extraction to concentration and then to alcohol precipitation and recovery.

 II. Workflow

  • Extraction: Medicinal herbs are placed in extraction tanks, and an appropriate solvent (such as water or ethanol) is added. Extraction is performed under controlled temperature and pressure, dissolving the active ingredients into the solvent to form an extract.
  • Concentration: The extract is filtered and then transferred to a concentrator for evaporation. By reducing temperature and pressure, the solvent is evaporated, increasing the concentration of the extract. The concentrated extract contains higher levels of active ingredients, facilitating subsequent alcohol precipitation.
  • Alcohol Precipitation: The concentrated extract is transferred to an alcohol precipitation tank, where ethanol or other alcohol solvents are added to precipitate the active ingredients. By adjusting the solvent ratio and temperature, the precipitation speed and efficiency can be controlled.
  • Recovery: The supernatant from the alcohol precipitation process contains un-precipitated active ingredients and solvents. This liquid is sent to an alcohol recovery tower for distillation, separating the solvents from the active ingredients. The solvents are recycled, while the active ingredients undergo further processing.

III. Features of the Production Line

  1. High Automation: The production line employs advanced automated control systems, enabling precise monitoring and regulation of the production process, thereby improving efficiency and product quality.
  2. Flexibility: The production line can be customized to meet specific client requirements, accommodating different medicinal herbs and extraction processes. Additionally, the equipment can be used individually or in combination to address diverse production needs.
  3. Energy Efficiency and Environmental Friendliness: The production line incorporates advanced energy-saving technologies and equipment, such as thermal reflux extraction and low-temperature concentration, effectively reducing energy consumption and emissions in compliance with environmental standards.
  4. High Extraction Efficiency: Equipped with high-performance extraction and concentration devices, the production line shortens processing time, enhances extraction efficiency, and ensures a high yield of active ingredients.

In summary, the TCM extraction, concentration, and alcohol precipitation recovery production line is a vital equipment combination in the field of medicinal herb processing, offering advantages such as high automation, flexibility, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, and superior extraction efficiency.
